Table Tennis New Zealand has Six National Events
which are hosted by District Associations at various centres.

A revision of the rules and format of the National
Secondary School's Tournament has recently been completed. Following last years
tournament, a questionnaire survey was undertaken of attending schools to gauge the
implementation of the new event format. That, with a further survey of major participating
regions in April of this year, and discussions with this years host association, a number
of changes have been made to this years tournament.
The major changes are: Reinstatement of 'open entry' for any school and
no limit on the number of teams from any one school, providing they meet strict
eligibility criteria as set out by the NZSSSC. This will be reviewed again after this
years tournament.
Three player teams: maximum of five players in a squad.
Seven game format: 6 singles and 1 doubles.
A new fee structure: $25/player playing in a team (includes full entry
into the individual events and $15/player for entry into the individual events only.
